Valentine “Val” Kamelamela, 61, of Hilo died Tuesday, March 10, at home. Born in Hilo, he worked at the former Hilo Lanes (Bowling Alley) and was a member of the Hilo Jaycees Roosters Club. Minoru “Mino” Nakasato, 88, of Kapaau died Feb. 11 at the North Hawaii Community Hospital in Waimea. Born in Kohala, he was an Army veteran, a diesel mechanic for the former Kohala Sugar Company, and a retired macadamia nut Farmer. He was a member of the Kohala Senior Citizen Club, Kohala Okinawa Kenjin Kai, and Hawi Jodo Mission.
